What the f*ck is CBD

There’s a bunch of confusing, scientific words when it comes to CBD.  Let us break this shit down for you, so you know what the f*ck we’re talking about.

The term Cannabis broadly refers to a group of 3 plants (scientifically referred to as Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis). THC and CBD are just 2 of the 120 different compounds found in this plant.

Marijuana refers to varieties of Cannabis that contain more than 0.3% THC, and THC is the shit that gives the feeling of being high. It’s the main psychoactive compound in marijuana.

Hemp refers to varieties of Cannabis that contain 0.3% or less THC. CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, which is a non-intoxicating compound thought to have therapeutic benefits and is the reason you’re even reading this right now.

Note that CBD can be extracted from hemp or from marijuana. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp and hemp-derived products, including hemp-derived CBD, were legalized. Roo CBD is American-made and hemp-derived.

Still got questions? We have answers.  To read more about CBD, or if you want to know if there’s a chance you’ll piss hot on your next drug test, keep on reading.  We’ll drop some knowledge on your ass.

Does CBD get you high?

That would be a no. Our CBD contains less than .3% THC, which is not in high enough concentrations to cause a high. THC is federally illegal, and we’re not messing with that sh!t. If you decide to take massive amounts of this stuff, you still won’t get high, but you may decide to lay the fuck down and get some sleep.

What are the side effects of CBD?

Mother Nature is a badass, but not always so exacting. The effects of organic compounds can be many and can vary from person to person. Herbal compounds can have both desired effects and unwanted effects.

Think about it like this, some people find CBD works like a charm to help them to get some shut-eye, but it also makes them feel sleepy when they use it during the day.  If you want to feel awake during the day, then feeling sleepy would be an unwanted effect. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t need to calm the fuck down from time to time…

So, is this pot?

Nope. Our CBD is derived from hemp plants, not marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are close relatives, but not the same. By definition, hemp contains less than 0.3% THC – the shit that makes you high. Our CBD is a natural oil which is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. Depending on the formulation of a product, it may contain other beneficial components such as omega fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

With that said, Let us be super effing clear, our CBD has NO THC.

Will I piss hot during a drug test?

Just like how binging on a baker’s dozen of poppy seed bagels may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, the consumption of certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is inherently present in trace amounts in hemp plants. The legal limit of THC in hemp is no more than 0.3%. If you are subject to drug testing we strongly suggest consulting your health care provider before consuming any hemp-derived products.

What are the benefits of this stuff?

Really smart people in white lab coats (scientists) found that these plant compounds have a better effect on the body when they work together, rather than alone. In other words, teamwork makes the dream work. CBD users claim benefits like a sense of calm and focus; relief from everyday stresses; help in recovery from exercise-induced inflammation and support for healthy sleep cycles*. Our broad-spectrum cannabinoid contains CBD, other cannabinoids and beneficial plant compounds like terpenes and flavonoids. Since research shows that using the whole damn plant maximizes benefits, we make sure to pack each of our products with as much of Mother Nature’s ass-kicking goodness as we can.

What’s the difference between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil?

Cannabidiol oil (CBD oil) is primarily found in the leaves, flowers and stalks of the hemp plant.  Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is made from hemp seeds, meaning there is little to no CBD content.

Is your stuff organic?

We use the highest quality ingredients in our CBD.  Have a look at our labels and see for yourself. In order to promote the word “organic” on a label, at least 95% of the ingredients used in the product must be USDA-certified organic.  Since the USDA doesn’t certify CBD, we cannot legally promote our products as organic.

Do you have any customer reviews?

Legally, we aren’t permitted to make any claims on our website, and neither are our customers.  So if you have a good fucking experience and want to shout it from the rooftops, please do. Tell everyone about us. Unfortunately, any information about your experience, even in a review, could be considered a claim.

Why aren’t the gummies more like candy gummies?

We weren’t interested in putting a mediocre CBD product out there just so it would taste like candy and happen to have a little bit of CBD in it.  You deserve better than that. We wanted to be able to maximize the benefit of CBD through an edible form, and we also didn’t want it to contain a bunch of junk.  Each of our gummies contains a minimum of 20 mg of CBD and no refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

For some insightful commentary on just what’s in those sugarfree gummy bears, read on for the “explosive” details.
